COURTNI FOSTER, Associate Agent

Courtni's journey from rural St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, to the final year of medical school in DC is shaped by resilience, curiosity, discipline, and a strong belief in community. As a young Black immigrant, budding doctor, and neuroscience researcher, she brings a thoughtful and culturally aware perspective to her work.

An avid reader, Courtni values literature as both an escape and a means of reflection. Her aspiration to become a literary agent stems from a desire to discover singular voices and support writers in enhancing their work while maintaining its individuality. With her scientific training, she is well-equipped to evaluate complex information, provide thoughtful feedback, and guide writers through the challenging publishing process.

Courtni proudly describes herself as “genreless,” but she is currently seeking speculative fiction, especially fantasy, which will always hold a special place on her shelves and in her heart. She is drawn to emotionally evocative work - stories that pull readers into another world and impart lessons that stay with them for a lifetime. Her goal is to foster lasting creative relationships and bring exceptional stories into the world.
